Isabel Wijsen is a 19 year old changemaker and co-founder of the successful NGO Bye Bye Plastic Bags, which she started with her sister Melati at the age of 10 and 12. As of June 23 2019, they championed, with many like minded organisations, the ban of plastic bags, straws and styrofoam on the island of Bali. Bye Bye Plastic Bags is by now a youth driven NGO with 50+ global teams in more than 40 countries.
During the journey Isabel has performed in an over one million watched TED TALK, she spoke at the Assembly Hall at the United Nations in New York, was nominated for CNN heroes and made it to the top ten of Indonesian most influential women by Forbes.
Isabel has completed her high school at Green school and today she is studying at the Bali Culinary Pastry School. She is a powerhouse, a passionate speaker and practices kick boxing as a hobby. She hopes to make an impact and contribute to the sustainability in the culinary world.
