Rachel Whetstone is Chief Communications Officer at Netflix, Inc. since August 27, 2018. Prior to joining Netflix, she served as Vice President of communications at Facebook Inc. She served as Senior Vice President of Communications and Public Policy of Google Inc.
In February 2013, Whetstone was assessed as one of the 100 most powerful women in the United Kingdom by Woman's Hour on BBC Radio 4. She has been featured on PRWeek's Power List several times, most recently in 2016 at Number 14.
Whetstone served as Vice President of Global Communications & Public Affairs at Google Inc. Ms. Whetstone joined Google in 2005, after 15 years advising senior politicians and FTSE companies on their strategic communications. She is responsible for the Google Inc.’s public-facing communications, including media relations and stakeholder outreach, as well as internal communications.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in History from Bristol University.
