Professor Sohail Inayatullah, a political scientist and futurist, is the inaugural UNESCO Chair in Futures Studies. He is also Professor at Tamkang University, Taiwan and Associate, Melbourne Business School, the University of Melbourne and teaches from metafutureschool.teachable.com. Before this, he was Adjunct Professor at the Center for Policing, CounterTerrorism, and Intelligence at Macquarie University.

In March 2011, Sohail Inayatullah was awarded an honorary doctorate by Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang. He also works as theme editor of ‘Globalization and World Systems’ for the UNESCO Encyclopedia of Life Support Systems.

Prof. Inayatullah is the author and co-editor of twenty-five books, including Futures thinking in Asia and the Pacific, Asia 2038 (in English, Mandarin, and Korean), Transformation 2050, and Prout In Power: Policy Solutions that Reframe our Futures. He has published over 350 scientific journal articles and book chapters.

Currently, Prof. Sohail Inayatullah is working with the Government of Egypt (national manufacturing strategy), the Government of Abu Dhabi (national tourism strategy), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission of Asia and the Pacific (Regional climate change strategy), Interpol, the Philippine Senate (national futures thinking and scenarios), the National Disabilities Services, Brisbane Grammar School, and Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research.
